Malcolm & Delia Colegate would like to welcome you to our website and our lovely rural home.
We live in a beautiful spot off the main route and yet only a stone's throw from some of the finest views in Devon. I'm biased of course, but with the many things to see and explore in this part of Devon, you never need to travel more than 20 miles or so in a day and you'll be able to experience range of things from the moors to the sea. There is night life in Torquay, or you can sketch/walk or just sit on the moors. Take a boat trip up the Dart, eat in John Burton-Race's restaurant the 'New Angel' in Dartmouth or visit the local markets at Tavistock or Totnes and Newton Abbot. You can do it as far away or as near as you want. Take it in your own stride and make the most of your stay, as we say "do it the Devon way". Devon is an English county of outstanding natural beauty. Its lovely beaches and mild climate make it the ideal destination for traditional seaside holidays. Inland, narrow country lanes meander through the lush green countryside to idyllic villages of thatched cottages. Devon’s history is inextricably bound up with the sea. In 1588 Francis Drake interrupted his bowls fixture in Plymouth to fight off the Spanish Armada. The Barbican, Plymouths historic old quay, with its Tudor and Jacobean buildings, has been preserved so that visitors can stand on the very spot where in 1620 the Pilgrim Fathers set out for America aboard the Mayflower.
